This secret bar in Aoyama is the latest viral sensation. As soon as you push the hidden door, you enter a stylish space decorated with art and lush greenery. Whales of August
For a unique cocktail drinking experience, go to Whales of August. This speakeasy-style bar, located in Shibuya, serves movie-themed cocktails. Although there is a ¥500 seating charge, it is definitely worth it, even if you just end up having one drink. Make sure to bring cash as a backup.
On the menu you will see a long list of movie-themed cocktails including Beauty and the Beast, Kill Bill and My Neighbor Totoro. If you can’t find your favorite film on the list, you can request and get an original cocktail. Each cocktail is priced at around ¥800 to ¥1000. Some original ones may end up costing a little bit more. Keep in mind that the scarier the film is, the stronger the drink will be.
